Dodgers purchased the contract of INF Dee Gordon from Triple-A Albuquerque. We didn't expect to see Gordon this soon, but the injury to Rafael Furcal has apparently forced the Dodgers' hand. The 23-year-old shortstop has a .299/.353/.383 batting line over parts of four seasons in the minor leagues. While he doesn't have much power to speak of, he has swiped 166 bases over 374 minor league games. It's not known how the Dodgers plan to use him, but it would be foolish to keep him on the bench. He's obviously keeper gold, but he should be immediately owned in NL-only leagues, as well.
What value (if any) does this guy have? What about as a keeper?
Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said that Dee Gordon will the regular shortstop. That's what we like to hear. Rafael Furcal is currently on the disabled list with an oblique injury, so we should get a sneak preview for about the next month or so. Gordon, 23, hasn't shown much power in the minors, but has plus-speed and plays quality defense at the shortstop position. While he's a must-add in NL-only leagues, mixed-leaguers should absolutely file this name away for the future.
he has great speed. all he needs to do is get on base. he had 22 SB so far this season, 53 SB last season, and 73 the season before that.
with Gordon being the new every day SS, I assume that Carroll will still get a start at either 2B or 3B and be the leadoff hitter? ..rather than the Dodgers also go with Gordon at leadoff.

with that kind of speed this kid could earn the nickname Flash...
Gordon or Jemele Weeks? I'm also replacing Hanley.Trying to do this quickly as the Ellis owner may also try to get one of these guys. I really know nothing about either other than whats posted here. They seem like simialr players if I'm reading correctly.Gordon has more speed.

Weeks is a better hitter but he still strikes out too much. I'm not sure if gordon is going to hit at all in the majors but I guess a Bourn-esque line is possible. low BA/OBP, no HR's/RBI's, decent/good R's and elite SB's.
