Jon Lester for Stephen Drew/Gallardo...WHIR guaranteed

Postby jasonpm311 » Mon Jun 06, 2011 5:08 pm

It's a 12-team H2H mixed league. I need SS help (currently have JJ Hardy) and was considering this trade. Thoughts?

I give: Jon Lester

I get: Stephen Drew and Yovani Gallardo

Would you do this deal? Post your comments and links so I can help in return. Thanks!

Re: David Price for Stephen Drew/Gallardo...WHIR guaranteed

Gallardo was shaky early on, but he is in the zone where he may stay the rest of the season. He is in a relatively weak hitting division, and his offense is going to score him runs. I like him over Price, and getting Drew on top is a nice bonus. For Lester I would have to see the lineup and gauge if Drew really does anything for you, but I would be tempted to take that as well.

I would do it. I don't care for Hardy the least bit, and Gallardo can put up numbers almost as good as Lester. The upgrade at SS is worth the difference between the two, IMO.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this one? I'm leaning towards doing it, but, would love to hear a few other opinions. It's a 12-team H2H keeper league, in case that wasn't in my original message. If I do it, I'd probably keep David Price instead of Lester, so, not a huge drop off there. Post your comments and links so I can return. Thanks!

Lester hasnt even been doing that great this year posting a 3.94 ERA but Gallardo has really gotten it done the past 30 something days and Drew has been doing nice with RBIs and runs.
I say do it.

Help me?

Alright, thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to go for it. If anyone else has a strong feeling that I should hold on to Lester, let me know though! Thanks.

I would do it. It's a big upgrade at SS with only a small downgrade at SP.

Definitely do this trade. Gallardo is just as valuable, if not more valuable then Lester.
