Rios has had two very good years in the majors. Another overrated player that everybody thinks will breakout . And they wait and they wait. Playing in that ballpark you would think he would hit more bombs. He'll never be on my team.Him or BJ Upton.
I don't think it's about breaking out, it's just about even putting up an average year at this point for him. He's a career .277 hitter (and that's adjusted by his current .199) so his average SHOULD improve as the season goes on. If the average improves the SB will come. I think last year wasn't really a fluke, just a career year. He should still be a .280, 15 HR, 20 SB guy in an average year. Anyone that over drafted him based on last year's numbers were due to be disappointed.
Edit: Also, his 10% K is the best of his career while his .205 babip his the worst of his career. I don't think he'll suck forever, it's just a matter of if you can afford to let him sit or not.
He would be batting close to .300 if he had his career BAPIP of .310. K's are down along with power but LD% is in line with his career avg's.
The reason that you draft Rios is because he's a .277 career hitter that hits 15+ HR's with 20-30 SB's every single season except for one season where he still got the HR's and SB's but batted .247 and I can't think of a way to continue this run on sentence any further so I'll just stop before this becomes ridiculous.

Buy imo.
This is what I was hoping for, but just not getting it and he seems lost at times. Gonna hold for now.
anyone think the injury was a concern he may get over?
Frustrating to own him, but all I can do is bench him and hope the hits start falling. Like others have said, the BABIP is absurdly below his career norms, so everything says "buy low."
