I like the second deal better. Hosmer has shown all signs that he is a future top 10 player. The kid is making major league pitching look easy in his first 2 months in the bigs. Your lineup with Votto, Fielder, and Hosmer will be tough to beat. Brett Lawrie is still an unknown while Hosmer has proven himself to me (remember, Hosmer's biggest knock was his lack of power and it looks to me like hes found it!).

The problem with three 1B is one of them will always be sitting. Unless you have an IF or CI position in your league. If not, you can have one start at first, one start in the utility spot and then the other sits. It's self defeating, imo.

I like this deal for you.

It's not outright robbing because Bruce looks very legit this year, Zimm will pitch well for the Nats and Hudson is still a solid pitcher.

However, Votto is a stud and Cahill is a nice upgrade from Hudson.

You can always trade or drop Trumbo to make room. Then when Ike gets back, move him into your UT spot.

Just a heads up ... It's Tommy Hanson I would be giving up. Not Hudson.

Oops! It's still a good deal for you with either Hudson or Hanson. Hanson is slightly better than Hudson, but Cahill is still better than both.
