Sick of Hanley! Trade offer? WHIR

Postby ArgyleSox » Sat Jun 04, 2011 3:46 pm

Looking to get rid of Hanley while he still has a sniff of value.

Thinking of offering this:
Hanley
Francouer
Grady
Hill

In exchange for:
Escobar
Ellsbury
Uggla

I think Escobar will continue to have a strong season at the plate, with Bautista coaching him every game. I wouldn't mind getting rid of "Band-Aid" Sizemore, and "Overachiever" Francouer while I still can. Uggla has about as much chance of salvaging half of a season as Hanley. I also don't mind getting rid of 4 for 3, because Kendrick should be off of the DL by the end of the weekend.

Fair trade offer?
Non-Keeper, H2H

C Avila
1B Youkilis
2B Kendrick
3B Bautista
SS Hardy
OF Bourn
OF Gordon
OF Holliday
U Lind

Bench:
Smoak
Francouer
Hanley
J. Weeks
Pagan
Hill

This trade is essentially Hanley + your junk for Uggla + Ellsbury + throw-in. I think this is a pretty fair deal. Ellsbury has been an elite source of runs and SBs, Uggla sucks bad right now, but he should get comfortable in Atlanta eventually. Hanley has also sucked, and given his down year last year, I don't really have a lot of confidence in him. I think its a fair deal, and one I'd pop on if I were you. Even though the deal's fair, I doubt the other guy goes for it, because its easy to fall in love with Ellsburry.

I think it's a fair offer, but not a great return for the average number 2 pick. But, you also unload a lot of junk. I did the same with Pedroia this weekend, so I say give it a shot. I'm not certain that he would accept, but it's worth a shot.

Good luck. :D

I have a thread in the rate my team forum if you'd like to take a look.

It's solid considering Uggla could turn it around and u get rid of some bums.

That seems like a fair trade. I'm on the same boat with Hanley in my lineup. I may make a move myself.

Yeah I would try to get a little more value out of Hanley then that honestly. Even though it is a good time to buy low on Uggla.

The problem with getting more value out of Hanley ... is no one wants him right now. I think if you are a Hanley owner, you either give up and get what you can get, or hold and cross your fingers. I think if you go down the get what you can get rout, this is a decent return.
