He has great strike-out numbers and he has pitched amazing his last 3 starts. Do you think this is finally the year for him or will his innings be limited again?
I'll be dropping Ryan Dempster, who had another horrible start yesterday.
Some other FA options are: Kevin Correia Dillon Gee Jeremy Guthrie David Hernandez Doug Fister Freddy Garcia Randy Wolf John Danks Edwin Jackson Aaron Harang Bronson Arroyo Tim Stauffer Carl Pavano Derek Holland
McDonald could work ... no one will be able to tell you if he'll be worth owning in a few weeks. He's showing signs of doing good things, but he's a low end guy, and low end guys give you a mix of good and bad games, which is a difficult thing to deal with in fantasy. He's worth a flier, especially with Dempster sucking it up, but don't expect too much from him.

yeah very good points, I just feel like he is the best option on the FA for strikeout numbers especially with Volquez in the minors. He is mostly a spot start guy though.
I like McDonald. Lots of experts picked him before the year, and he's come back around. I definitely like him more than Dempster. I say go for it. Thanks for your help on my Ichiro/Asdrubal one.
Based on your options, I'd take a shot at McDonald, however being the ace he'll need run support against opposing aces. Keep an eye on Gee and Corriea. Gee has had some solid starts, but against below-average teams.
