What can you say about Betancourt that hasn't already been said about Hot Pockets? If you're in a bind, you can roster/eat them, and sometimes they're surprisingly good, but they'll ruin your fantasy team/overall health if you use them as a long term option.
I'd say my opinion had some merit to it at the very least considering Jeter out produced him in the 2nd half.
Nice gravedig.
Perhaps you should go back to the original rankings that we each did and you'll notice that Jeter is ranked way too high in yours while both Andrus and Jeter are in the 10-15 range in mine. That's where both of these guys belong. Instead they are getting drafted early.
Those are from Jun 3rd which are pretty close to mid season numbers, I'm sure if I went back one more month it wouldn't change too much. The fact is people gave up on Jeter, he is certainly slipping and deserves to be drafted a lot later than in the past but he just had a bad first couple months more than anything.
As for the gravedig I think in fantasy baseball those are EXTREMELY important. Every year I express opinions and every year people say I'm 'crazy' and almost every time if you just look at the 2nd half stats you see that the thought process while not perfect is at least somewhat valid. Without looking back at those mid seasons posts you lose an extremely valuable learning tool. In this case I was looking back at my own posts to see where my opinions were wrong because I wanted to identify 'leaks' in my game.

He had a lucky BAPIP and other than his high avg he didn't really offer that much which was my original argument. I don't like either of them and imo ranked them appropriately. both = mediocre at SS.
I certainly agree with that. Right now I have them as my 9th and 10th rated SS (with 2B/SS going to 2B eligibility) and that is without ranking all of the marginal SS yet. I won't be surprised if they both fall out of the top 10. My qualm was more with the comments that it was somehow crazy to rate Jeter over Andrus when the reality is that Jeter out performed him in the 2nd half even it wasn't by much and neither was all that great. People naturally seem to get way too hung up on early stats in general and then they tend to forget about the 2nd half since nobody ever calls them out on it after the season ends.
Right now it looks like Andrus is being way overrated (50ish in the MDP) while Jeter is fairly valued (though I don't necessarily like him) at 116. Meanwhile Andrus' clone is at #138. he's one of my targets at SS this year assuming that I don't get Tulo in the 1st. I'm not investing in a SS in the top 100. ick.
