I really like this deal. Lawrie could be great, however we've already seen Hosmer producing at a fairly high level so far in the majors. I like Cahill a lot more than Dempster going forward, and Zimmerman and Cueto should be about even with Cueto pitching for the better team. I'd take the deal.
Yeah, I'd definitely take that... good time to jump off Zimm. Hosmer has already hit well enough to bring him to the front of the ROY discussion, and Lawrie still has everything to prove. Plus Lawrie is notoriously terrible at defense and it could affect his mental stability in the bigs. Not to mention you are getting some other pretty good talent in the trade... Your team just gets more stacked every time I see it...
I like it. What I really like the the Cahill for Dempster part. Plus, we have no idea what Lawrie will do once he gets to the majors ... but we do know at this point that Hosmer's at least going to be a positive fantasy player.
I agree about doing this deal with or without Cueto. Lawrie could be good, but Hosmer will be [much] better IMO. And Dempster is basically worthless, especially 12 Teams, is he even ownable at this point? I know he had a few good outings, but he's BAD.
So I'm seeing Hosmer > Lawrie, Cahill>Zimmermann, and who really cares about Cueto and Dempster.
