Pujols trade Vetoed

Postby panjam » Fri Jun 03, 2011 4:23 pm

2 guys agreed to the following trade in a long term keeper league:

Hamilton/Konerko/Ortiz for Pujols/McCutchen

The trade got vetoed in less than an hour (by votes). Is this is trade veto worthy or legit?? Nobody's trying to make their teams worse, but I think the guy giving up Pujols/McCutch is getting shafted. IMHO Konerko/Big Papi have little value in a keeper league.

Thanks. WHIR.

This should be vetoed, probably even in a redraft.

McCutch is a stud, I would take him over Hamilton for this year alone, and it's not even close in terms of keepers. And a Konerko/Ortiz trade for Pujols in a keeper league is a disaster for the guy giving up Pujols.

I usually hate to veto deals. Is this an auction league or straight 'keep the best you got'. If there is a cap reason or draft position reason maybe, but, otherwise, yeah, giving up Pujols and McCutchen is too much.

Even if the one guy was getting shafted, I don't like the veto. There's no reason to veto someone for being stupid. Honestly, everyone should worry about their own teams, and vetoes should be reserved for collusion or firesales in non keeper leagues. It's not the league's job to decide what trades are okay since everyone in the league holds a bias. (Whether purposefully/consciously or not)

As far as trade value goes, I've seen worse that didn't get veto'd...

Anyway, I don't like the veto and that's my two cents.

Cheers! :-)
