McCann for Heath Bell

I'm in a 5x5 NL-only 10-team roto league and in the bottom of the pack (though not distantly) in saves, but also lingering in the middle in HRs and AVG (and dead last in runs). I have a possibility of trading McCann from my team to get Heath Bell, which would definitely earn me some saves. Currently, I already have John Axford as my one and only closer, so I expect that adding Bell would roughly double my save output for the rest of the year (better closer, but worse team). I also have Wilson Ramos, serving now as my utility player, who could come in and catch instead if I gave up McCann... a definite downgrade, but I can't decide whether it is too much of one. Thoughts are greatly appreciated!

I think you should be able to get more then just Heath Bell for McCann.

It's true that you could probably pull some more for McCann, so you should try to work the other owner into giving up more value. That said, I think moving McCann to help your RP situation is a good idea and Bell is a fine target.

What about McCann for Bell and Michael Bourn? I'm last in steals - by a wide margin (in last place, 15 behind next-to-last), and last in runs but by a much smaller margin. I had essentially given up on breaking out of last in steals, but if there's anyone to help me do it, it's probably Bourn..

Another option he has at closer is Fernando Salas, but I can't get a read on how likely he is to actually remain the Cardinals closer for any length of time.

Hes been pretty solid so far. I don't see him losing the job anytime soon.

DO NOT PAY FOR SAVES. As trades occur throughout the season new closers become available. For all you know Bell gets traded into a set-up situation and Mike Adams or Luke Gregerson become the full time Preachers Closer. McCann= #2 catcher barely behind V-Mart IMO Braves offense will get going.

#1 C in an NL league, so I'd go for top dollar for McCann. I'd want two good players in return. Do not undersell McCann!
