Time to drop Jeter? WHIR

Postby jeffkoz12 » Thu Jun 02, 2011 2:57 pm

My tiny bench does not have space for two SS, and no one else in my 10-team league seems to need an aging, mediocre shortstop.

Is it time to cut Jeter?

Roster:
C Wieters / 1B Miggy / 2B Prado / 3B Youk / SS AsCabrera
OF Gardner / OF Berkman / OF McCutchen / UT Matt Joyce / UT KJohnson /
BN Jeter / DL Ike Davis

SP Linceum / Verlander / Greinke
RP Bell / Walden
P ABailey
P Chacin
BN Cahill / Wandy / Jurrjens / Carpenter

Jeter is still a top 5-7 ss. I would try to trade if I could.

Free agents available include:
Alex Gordon, Ryan Roberts, Michael Brantley
Hosmer, Michael Morse, Avila
Mike Aviles

etc.

(This is a redraft league, obviously)

Realistically all you are really getting (and me) from Jeter is runs scored. I use him in a utility spot but haven't had the nerve to cut him. Nobody wants him in my league either (also have HanRam). Michael Brantley and Ryan Roberts have been putting up very good numbers and I'm a big fan of Eric Hosmer, who will do consistently well in KC's offense. Honestly, I think I'd hold Jeter for now.... but if you absolutely made a deal, I'd personally probably grab Hosmer.

Yeah if you can make a trade with Jeter, I would definitely grab Hosmer off the FA. Then Gordon or Brantley if Hosmer is already taken.

help with mine please (also a Jeter related question):
