Too much offense...WHIR

Postby Whosyomamma » Thu Jun 02, 2011 2:18 pm

I'm at or near the top in every offensive category and my pitching overall isn't too bad (worst category is saves right now - 2nd to last in this cat). Guy in my league needs offense bad but is very difficult to trade with. Which trade makes the most sense for me (roster and league details below):

1) Quentin for Latos
2) Hart for Latos
3) McCutcheon and who for Latos and L.Morrison (or maybe even Hosmer) - he really wants McCutcheon...

Yahoo 10-team Std weekly points league(27-man roster - Start 1 each: C,1B,2B,3B,SS,IF,Util, 4-OF, 5-SP, and 2-RP lineups are weekly and NO DL spots):
C-McCann
1B-Konerko, J.Smoak
2B-N.Walker(3B), J.Lowrie(3B,SS), B.Lawrie, D.Uggla
3B-Longoria, P.Sandoval(1B)
SS-Tulowitzki, J.Peralta(3B)
OF-A.McCutcheon, C.Quentin, M.Bourn, C.Granderson, R.Davis, C.Hart, M.Morse(1B)
SP-C.Kershaw, T.Hanson, Y.Gallardo, J.Chacin, A.Sanchez, M.Garza
RP-C.Marmol, J.Hanrahan, D.Storen

I choose option #1... his HR numbers are inflated from one game, and I think you have enough production to maintain that category without him.

I Like options 1 or 2. I would do either one. But, I don't like you giving up McCutchen in deal number 3. His a 5 tool player who is getting hot. If somehow you could get Morrison and Latos for McCutchen that is the only way I would do it. But, I doubt he will go for that even though he really wants Cutch.

please help

He's actually willing to do Latos and Morrison for McCutcheon. But would it be better to have Hosmer since I have lots of OF's as it is? I'd also have to drop someone if I accept this trade or include them to even out the rosters. I'm thinking either Smoak or Lawrie are the most droppable based on this trade. Thoughts?

I like option #1.
Option #2 looks ok too.
I would not trade McCutcheon for Latos and L Morrison. I would probably do a McCutcheon and Quentin or Hart for Hosmer and Latos. You lose depth in OF but what you gain in SP and Utility/IF makes up for it, assuming that OF FA depth is decent. (maybe you can get him to throw in a low end/decent OF)
