I think McGehee will turn things around and be the most valuable of that list the rest of the season, though he certainly isn't the hot hand right now.

Not sure of the rules in your league, but I love Izturis as a bench player (not as much as a starter). In yahoo or ESPN, I believe he qualifies at 2b, ss, and 3b, allowing him to give you Monday/Thursday production or cover short term injuries without using up extra roster spots. So I would not grab any of the guys you mentioned. Also, if VMart qualifies at C, trade either him or Avila; there is no need to have a catcher starting regularly at a non-catcher position. You an easily find another DH.

Yes you've got everything correct. I'm playing in ESPN and I too like Izturis because he is eligible in so many positions (SS, 3B, 2B).

V Mart does qualify as a C and I use him most of the time. I move my roster around a lot because I can change it daily, I just dont change my roster on fantasy cafe daily because that would be a lot of work. I have Abreu and V Mart that are DH eligible. Other than them I have Izturis and AROD that should become DH eligible before the all star break hopefully. I've also looked and Josh Willingham will be DH eligible soon.

I agree that having a C at a Non C position is not wise(They are usually not the best?) However, I hate to trade away a C and have only 1. I know lots of people believe you only need 1 but I hate it when I have an empty roster spot that could have earned me points. Am I wrong here?

I'm trying to upgrade my roster and I feel Izturis is my weakest link right now. Plus I have Kendrick coming off the DL soon but I will worry about that when it happens.

(Edit: If I were to drop someone, who should I drop to pick up McGehee?)

I usually play without a backup C, but having a backup C is not a bad idea. Just don't make them better than the 11th best in the league (in a ten team league) or you can get more in a trade. The value of a DH that you could get for VMart is worth more than having Avila on days Martinez does not play.

1 Problem that I knew I would eventually run into is that when Det doesn't have a game I don't have a catcher at all. They are both on the same team. I knew that going in but I picked up Avila when V Mart went on the DL and he has been too good to drop.

I'm not sure I'm following the V Mart/Avila discussion. Are you saying I should consider trading Avila because he is probably better than the 11th best catcher in the league? Should I pick up JP Arencibia?

I guess I would trade Avila both because he is better than some other team's starter and because he plas for the same team as VMart. Although I think Avila is better than Arencibia, I think Arencibia fits your team better.

Actually, though, I think the difference between perceived value and actual value is the key. VMart is better than Avila, but will bring a lot more in trade, I think more than the difference between them.

V Mart for Ellsbury/J. Hamilton

I think Ellsbury would be easier because the owner has K. Suzuki and C. Santana as his C's. The other owner has Yadier Molina.

Am I in the right ball park of VMart's value or should I be looking more at J. Bruce, H. Pence, N. Cruz.
