Postby mchapple78 » Wed Jun 01, 2011 6:00 pm

Being offered a trade and have choice of Kimbrel or Bell at closer.

I like kimbrel's K's but like Bell's ERA.

LOoking for saves more than the other numbers, so who do you like better???

Bell even though he is on the Padres still saved 47 games last year. Id go with him even though i like Kimbrel alot ( have him on a team) just because he is proven and this is Kimbrel's first year as a full time closer.

I think Kimbrel is slightly more likely to lose his job due to ineffectiveness at some point, but Bell could be traded to become a setup man on a contender. He also could become a closer on a contender. I would expect Kimbrel to have more saves if that is all you care about, but he will have more bumps in the road than Bell.

I think everyone seems to forget that the Padres are SIGNIFICANTLY worse this year. Like way worse. Bell saved 47 games on a team that barely missed the playoffs last year(albeit in a terrible division). The Padres might not win many more than that this year. However, Bell is going to get every save chance, and is still the best option here. Plus he has next to no competition. No one in San Diego is beating down the door for the closers job, and in Atlanta, Jonny Venters has a sub-1 ERA and WHIP. Bell is the safe bet here.

oh yea and like the dude said the padres suck if they do win its by less than 3 usually so basically all the games they win except ten he gets a save oppo they prolly will win 65 games

ADP really has no bearing.
Bell is better, but he will get moved, and it's not a lock he will close.
I take Kimbrel.
