Temptacious Trade WHIR

Postby Zain1two3 » Wed Jun 01, 2011 5:35 am

This trade could change my season. After a very slow start (I picked 9th out of 10 teams in a H2H non keeper league) I am now in 4th place. Through picking up a number of hitters on waivers, I've been able to do this. My latest pickup was Brantley for Brett Gardner.

So basically I was offered Roy Oswalt and Drew Stubbs for Cliff Lee and Brantley who I just picked up. I've felt for a while now, that Lee just isn't the same which is why I don't mind this trade (pitchers wise). But with Stubbs strike outs rate (I also just picked up Reynolds which I am already regretting) I am a bit worried. But overall, is this trade something I should do? SHould I try for Hunter Pence instead? I also would rather not give up Brantley having just picked him up. Maybe I could get Pence for less (Patterson)

He's trying to buy low on Lee and you're falling for it imho.

I can't possibly believe that Lee will be this mediocre all year long. I also have him on my roster and I won't trade him away for a dime less than his original draft value.

Oswalt is great when he's on his game but he has already had a lil trip to the dl with a back problem. I'd rather take my chances with a 100% healthy Lee. Oswalt's K/9 is down significantly also which could be only for a few games, but still.

You have 3 great players in your OF and you could start Hart, Morneau(who hit 2 dingers last night off Scherzer), Heyward(when he comes back). You won't really need Stubbs.

I wouldn't do the trade.

I don't think you are getting enough in return for Lee and would rather have Pence then Stubbs. But I don't think anyone will want Patterson as this is something he likes to do a lot, have a good couple weeks and then disappear only to return in a year or two and do it again. If you can sell him now and get Pence in return, I am all for it just don't see it happening.
