Am i giving to much for CC?WHIR guarunteed

Postby wvbaseballkid » Tue May 31, 2011 11:15 pm

I've been looking to trade for a pitcher since the beginning of the season and i feel like this is my best oppurtunity to. When i drafted i didn't know it was a pitcher's league(10 person, a quality start with a win is usually around 20's and stellar performances are 30+). Here is the trade, and next is my lineup
***SEND***
SP-Jonathan Sanchez SF
OF - Melky Cabrera KC(I've heard he will soon slow down, thoughts?)
SP-Matt Garza CHC

***RECEIVE***
SP-CC Sabathia NYY
OF- Dernard Span MIN

Here is the rest of my team:
C-Jonathan Lucroy
1B- Adrian Gonzales
2B-Dustin Pedroia
3b-Michael Young
SS-Troy Tulowitzki
1B/3B-Billy Butler
2B/SS - Darwin Barney
OF-Nelson Cruz
OF-Grady Sizemore
OF-Johnny Damon
OF-Michael Brantley
UTIL-Melky Cabrera
UTIL-Coco Crisp

SP-Tommy Hanson
SP-Roy Oswalt
SP-Daniel Hudson
SP-Daniel Hudson
SP-Jonathan Sanchez
SP-Bartolo Colon
SP-James McDonald
SP-Jason Marquis
SP-Eric Bedard
SP-Matt Garza
SP-Nick Blackburn
RP-Alexi Ogando
RP-Fernando Salas
RP-Heath Bell

Take it...Melky will definitely slow down, and Sabathia is a huge upgrade no matter how u look at it. Span is a nice addition - nothing HUGE but will help make up for the loss of Melky. Seems like a pretty good trade to me. Good luck! ;-D

I'm not as sold. Sanchez+Garza are both pretty good (ignore Garza's ERA; he's pitched much better than his ERA this season).

If you could get CC for only one of the two plus something else instead of both, I'd feel more confident.

Melky and Span are non-issues.

Who do I drop or package for a trade?

I'd do it in a heartbeat. He's an ace and a top 10 fantasy pitcher.

1b - Dunn
2b - Cano
3b - Beltre
SS - Rotating
OF - Bruce, De Aza, Cespedes
Util - Encarnacion
BN - Asdrubal, Adam Jones, Freddie Freeman

SP - Price, Gallardo, Rotating SP
RP - Myers, Perez, Nathan, Perkins, Wilhelmsen

I would do it. Garza's Ks are really nice, but other than that he's mediocre.

I'm not a fan of Sanchez and Melky either. And yes, I think Melky will slow down.

Thanks for your help with mine.

I would do this trade. CC would look awfully good at the top of your rotation.

Garza has potential for a huge season, with a lot of K's, but he may not get the W's that CC will get.
