Hosmer/Hellickson/Span for Stanton/Bailey ? ..WHIR

Postby SpecialFNK » Tue May 31, 2011 7:15 pm

5x5, roto, yahoo, non keeper, 12 team, DEEP 28 roster spots.

give- Eric Hosmer, Jeremy Hellickson, Denard Span.
get- Mike Stanton, Andrew Bailey.

I want to trade Hosmer, preferably for an OF with power. I have Teixeira/AdGonzalez for 1B/CI and then can only use Hosmer in the 1 UT spot leaving me unable to use anyone else with only 1B eligibility.
I also want to trade Hellickson. I have a rotation of Kershaw/Hamels/Haren/Billinglsey/Kuroda/Wandy/Hellickson, but I prefer NL pitchers over AL pitchers, especially the AL East.

I want Stanton and Bailey. I assume Hosmer and Hellickson likely aren't enough, who is a good 3rd person? Span?
this other owner is in last place. in this private league I can see the date of last activity and he is still active, but I question some of his decisions, or non decisions. he still has Morales in a DL Spot and Ian Stewart on the bench.

I like the deal you said and I think it would be good for your team... I would leave the base of the deal alone and keep trying a different 3rd to get this done and see what happens

yea that seems like a good deal for you. I'd make that move. Hellickson could be limited a bit on innings and I'd rather have Stanton than Hosmer.

Close call, but do it.

Positive: Power in the OF.
Negative: you could get more for Hellickson, especially in a package deal.

Thanks for the help with mine.

I do not like this deal at all because not only will you have to fill up either one of your OF spots or Util spot with one of your bench players, but Wandy is in the DL and I hear Haren was hurt and may be heading there as well. I mean Kershaw, Haren, and Hamels are sure things (more so for Kershaw and Haren), and Bills is very good, but without Hellickson your staff is basically composed of only a few great pitchers and a couple of so-so ones.

Like I said, if Haren ends up on the DL this trade is going to KILL you so I'd wait and see if that happens or not.
