Now that Soria's been dethroned, I need another closer. I grabbed Walden off of waivers, but not sure about my choice. I'm thinking I should pick up Andrew Bailey either in addition or instead.
Available closers: * Andrew Bailey * Salas * Santos
Drop candidates on my team: * Ike Davis * Soria
What should I do? WHIR!
Roster: SP Linceum SP Verlander SP Greinke P Chacin P Cahill RP Bell RP Walden BN Soria BN Carpenter BN Jurrjens BN Wandy Rodriguez (on DL)
C Wieters 1B Miggy 2B Prado 3B Youk SS AsCabrera OF McCutchen OF Berkman OF Gardner UT Matt Joyce UT KJohnson BN Jeter DL Ike Davis
Thanks for your help on mine. With all those closers on the wire as a result of a 10-team league, it looks like you'll always be able to pick one up if need be. Walden's a strong add, but I like Bailey out of those 4. In fact, I think dropping Soria all together is a good move in such a shallow league, maybe replacing him with Walden. Adding Bailey+Walden is pretty solid.
Thanks for your help on mine. I'd go with Bailey simply because A's pitching rotation is very strong and Bailey will get more save opportunities. He's not straight back into closer's role yet, but it's inevitable and should be any day now.
I must admit I've been very surprised by Santos though. I made a trade last week that landed me Marmol and the guy who sent Marmol to me picked up Santos from WW. Needless to say I'm kicking myself for losing as much as I did for Marmol while Santos is raking.
At the end though I think you'll be happier having a closer on a winning team and A's are a winning team. Go with Bailey.
I would hold Walden and monitor Bailey. You only have 2 RP spots and I don't like having extra RPs on my bench. Its not like you can swap closers like starters!
surprising to see those closers available. I would definitely pick up Bailey. the numbers Bailey has had in recent seasons he is the one I would want(as I do). I think he should have more saves than the others mentioned with other better numbers as well. I think it would be safe to drop Soria. if these closers who are closers are available on waivers then I don't think people would pick up Soria right away. it might even be an option to grab Santos and drop Davis.
Bailey without a doubt. Rookie of the year and this guy doesnt blow many oppurtunities. Keep walden and salas on close watch because both of them are getting alot of saves and alot of oppurtunities right now. As for santos....well he blew one against the dodgers...the worst offensive team in the league and he's very young in his second year so i wouldnt trust him just yet. please help me out i need this trade by tomorrow! viewtopic.php?f=26&t=432173
Walden first, Bailey second. Good move picking up Bailey for Soria. I think you have 4 spots where closers can be used (2 RP, 2 P) if I am reading that correctly.
