OK, so I'm in a 10 team league points league, H2H. I'm currently in 9th place and need to make a move before I get in too deep a hole. This league favors pitchers a lot. Guys who throw complete games and shutouts are very valuable.
I would give up A-Gonz and Starlin Castro and get Tim Lincecum
Here is the scoring:
IP- 1 point Wins 8 points Losses -4 points Complete games 10 points Shutouts 10 points Saves 5 points Earned Runs -1 point Home Runs -2 points K's 1 point BGIDP 1 point No hitter 10 points Perfect game 10 points
I should mention that I have albert puljos, pablo sandoval, kevin youkilis already on my team.
If it was Agon for Lincy straight up, I'd say go for it. If you value pitchers more than batters, then that trade would make sense. Giving up Castro too just seems like you're overpaying big time.
These are how the top pitchers are ranked as of now (I know it will change) but I think Lincecum is great, just not great enough to trade for with the 6th best bat in the game. Adrian Gonzalez is hitting exactly like everyone predicted going from the batters nightmare of Petco to the pitchers nightmare of Fenway. AGonz consistently hit 30-40 HR in the WORST ballpark in the league for HR hitting and just moved to one of the best and is killing it. You have no need to give up Castro for Lincecum, AGonz should work just fine if you have to get another top flight pitcher
I would not do it. That is too much for Lince. If you want him, A-gon for Lince seems ok.
Something that I try and remember when trading from a stacked position on my team, is that even if they are on my bench, the player is still worth their full price so don't sell short, even if you have great depth!
Nope, pass on this one. I wouldn't deal A-Gon straight up for Lincecum (it's a close deal, but I like the big bat over the big arm)... adding in Starlin makes it a bad deal for you.
