I just picked up Kelly Johnson, and I'm seriously considering trying to trade Pedroia to bolster my pitching. One team in my league only has Darwin Barney as a 2B eligible. He has expressed interest in trading for a 2B, but his 2 best pitchers are Lester and Verlander. So, I'm wondering what I should propose as a trade.
I'm thinking my Pedroia + Berkman + Norris for his Lester + Bruce I'm also thinking about Pedroia + Berkman/Norris for his Lester + Rasmus
Which of these two would be a better trade to pursue, and why? People in my league are hard to get to trade, so I may have to overoffer a wee bit to push it through. Hopefully not as his 2B situation is horrid.
The league is 12 team H2H.

I dont think you over-sell here, you dont need to and he needs a 2B way more than you need a pitcher. In fact, I dont really see anything problematic with your team, maybe your RP could be bolstered and it will certainly help to get Zimm back, your BN players are kinda replacement level fantasywise, but it wouldnt suprise me to see a team like that win a championship. So I think what you do here is offer Pedroia for Verlander and see what happens. Remember Pedroia is a top flight 2B option, and Velander is a top flight producer at a less thin position. If this doesnt work, I walk away from it because I dont think you need to move anything. If you really need it to work, maybe try a Pedroia/Brantley for Velander/Rasmus
If people in your league are tough to trade with, I highly doubt the owner will let go of Bruce right now. I think the 2nd trade could be good though. I like the idea of the Pedrioa for Verlander straight up idea and if that doesn't work, you can always try throwing in a bench player to the offer on your side. If a player on my bench that I can replace pretty easily from the WW is needed to get a trade done, I usually have no problem throwing him in.

Thanks for the help on my question.
Well, Norris is not exactly a great pitcher, and the upgrade to Lester or Verlander would be significant. Upgrading a WW piece like Brantley to Rasmus would be very useful. I've had to play matchups in OF every day. Some days I'm wrong, and it's not a happy day for me when that happens.
My first post actually failed to mention I dropped Brantley for Kelly Johnson last night.
So, my team would go
Pedroia down to K. Johnson Brantley up to Rasmus Norris up to Verlander or Lester.
This seems like a mild to moderate downgrade in 2B for significant upgrades to OF and SP.
As for my RP's, they win every week. The combination of three solid closers on three winning teams ensures production through thick and thin. They don't need to be worked.
On a side note, is Verlander really more desirable than Lester? O_o

I'm liking the second deal listed in the original post for you. Obviously the first one listed is better, but I doubt that would get accepted. I also think Pedroia for Verlander straight up would be good for you
Bruce would be someone nice to shoot for, but if it's a league hard to trade in I would think Bruce would be unreachable. I do like getting Rasmus over Berkman. I would rather go after Verlander than Lester, but you could settle for Lester if you want him too. you also free up a roster spot which is really nice. I would say go after the one in red. Pedroia/Berkman/Norris for Verlander(or Lester)/Rasmus.
You have to basically sell low on Pedroia and buy high on Bruce, so I doubt the first offer will be accepted. The second one could if the other owner really needs a 2b.
