Chris Perez for Brett Anderson?

Postby Maris09 » Mon May 30, 2011 9:44 pm

I'm a little weak at pitching, this a good deal?
It's a QS league instead of Wins, so that bodes well for Anderson I think.

thanks
whir

{edit: add lineup}

C- VMart
1B- Ike Davis DL (using Moreland for now)
2B- Pedroia
3B- Lowrie
SS- Tulo
CI- Morse/Moreland
MI- Kelly Johnson
OF- Bruce
OF- McCutchen
OF- Seth Smith
OF- Gardner
UT- Crisp
BN- Pagan
DL- Alvarez
DL- Ike Davis

SP- Sherzer
SP- Morrow
SP- Buchholz
SP- Peavy
RP- Feliz
RP- Perez
RP- Santos
P- A. Crow
P- James McDonald
P- Travis Wood
DL -Beachy

Pitching is ok I guess, but not great.

I also suppose the no Wins with QS's depresses RP value and raises SP's a little, but not enough to be the deciding factor.

Looks good for you. You need Anderson a lot more than you need Perez.

I'm a big Anderson fan so I'd take this.

Post it on tradebashers and see how the vote comes out. You input the players and league details and everybody votes.

As someone who just traded Anderson for Hosmer, I'd like the Perez end myself.
But that's because our screwy league doesn't play ERA or WHIP, so B.A has little value no picking up many wins.
QS instead of wins though would be nice.

I guess if you don't mind losing a closer it's not a bad deal.

We do use ERA and WHIP, and the QS instead of Wins both helps Anderson (because they A's don't give him much run support) and hurts Closers in general because they cannot vulture Wins here or there.

That said, Anderson looked like crap tonight. Hope I didn't make a mistake here. Closers will always pop up though I suppose.

yeah your SP sucks and if you can get away with ~3/ish closers (i have no idea how long aaron crow will close, as it's in KC's best interest to get soria back and closing... i personally think he's gotta be hurt or something, what with his curveball disappearing over the last year or two and his performance this year) but getting a brett anderson would be a big move for your staff, whether it's roto or h2h.

are you in a roto or h2h league anyways? keeperS?

if it's h2h i think it's a more-yeah trade because like, you can live with less closers in h2h, depending on how the other teams roll (i personally have 6 closers and say SAVES ARE MINE every week but i see myself paring them down for the playoffs to have more offensive optiions / better SPs) but yeah, even tho chris perez is a quality chunk of your saves picture and i dunno aaron crow's long term value, you can make this trade and stay vigilant and jump on new-closers as they pop up during the year, so like, seeing as you have aaron crow you're already doing that, and seeing as you have santos too (i had to jump on him early but i live in chicago and i felt like his closing era was coming and now it's upon us)

so yeah, you'll get the ace of your staff out of this and one way or another you need SP so i'd go for it.

check out mine, would ye? viewtopic.php?f=26&t=432547

Not sure we can call Brett Anderson the Ace of anything right now.

Damn, I thought my pitching would be good coming into the season with Scherzer, Morrow, Buchholz, Peavy, and Beachy.
