I currently have an open roster spot (since Liriano went on the DL). Do you think I'd be a good idea to pick up Zambrano for a single start tomorrow since he is going against the (until today) offensively challenged Astros?
Give your advice and leave your link if you need help as well.

Its not a bad idea. his career ERA vs Hou is 2.78, and hes better at home. I just wonder if there is someone who might be a more valuable pickup longterm to fill that spot. what are your league specs? moves cap?
if no moves cap, then id say def make this move and be ready to dump big Z as soon as he hits a rough spot.
thx for the help on mine

I dont know actually. The Astros have actually been scoring runs this year. They dropped 12 on the Cubs today. While Zambrano has owned the 'Stros, Id be wary of this start especially since he's scuffled most of the season. I think there is strong risk here.

I would actually grab J. Lyles from the Astros in this case.
He offers a better solution and is pitching against the Cubs today.
Lyles will be put on an inning cap, and he is obviously unproven, but the Astros are hitting right now and he is a strikeout pitcher against a team that strikes out a lot.
It's a crapshoot, but it's also my opinion. I also own Lyles, so I am a little bias.
