Offered Kubel for Hellickson or Lohse

Postby Devil Doc » Mon May 30, 2011 1:02 am

I'm in a 10 team keeper league, and was offered Kubel for Hellickson or Lohse...leaning towards Lohse just for the fact I think Hellickson upside and keeper value is greater then Lohse.

Is either worth Kubel?

I wouldn't trade either for Kubel.

I was hoping to get some more HR's with Kubel, with only having maybe 3 real big HR guys...thinking maybe Kubel can get me 30 this year...I could move Kubel to the DH slot, and Quentin to my OF slot, and I'm maybe I'm losing my best 6 or 7th best pitcher....thanks for the advice Eastman, I appreciate it!

I agree with the previous response and would not trade either for Kubel. Lohse seems like he figured something out this season and Hellickson has been throwing great.

Here is the other guys team...he's really trying to make a push to move up in the standings...right now I have 6 games on him, and only 4 teams make the playoffs....he's not one to trade fair, just to trade that only really benefits himself...so i'm not too surprised at the responses...I did steal Pineada and Jurrjens from him for U. Jiminez....looking at his roster, what could be a possible counter? Thanks again guys, I really do appreciate all the help with my true rookie year in fantasy baseball. You all have helped me out a lot already!

I can see why he's going crazy for pitchers... lol. This guy should not be acting stingy because he is in desperate need of a decent starter. Your team on the other hand, has decent offense and pretty good pitching as well. If I were you, I would try to package Lohse and another lower-key starter (like Norris or Kuroda) for one of his better position players like Pence. He is in a very vulnerable position and you have to learn to take advantage of that.

Every time a player gets injured in my league I literally travel around like a scavenger feasting on teams that need certain positions. Its not very nice, but its a good way to win!

;-D

Definitely package Lohse with a guy like Norris and try for Pence or maybe Stanton. No way I look to trade for a guy like Kubel who's numbers can be scavenged off the WW over time.

I made two offers to him, Lohse/Norris for Stanton or Pence, turned both of them down and said the trade was insulting. HE's pretty burned about the fact the two previous trades we had hasn't worked out in his favor.

Josh Willingham is on the WW, thinking of adding him and dropping Austin Jackson. Willingham will probably have the same numbers as Kubel, and it won't cost me that much.
