John Danks or Johan Santana?

Postby misterf » Sun May 29, 2011 6:58 am

Its a 10 team.....5x5 roto.....keeper league

I have may choice of John Danks or Johan Santan for my #7 starter (both sitting on the waiver wire). Which one would you prefer for the rest of the season?

I see Danks as a good buy-low guy.....but the upside for Santana is pretty high, even though 2 months of production is best case scenario for Santana.

One issue that might effect the decision is that We have an innings limit of 1250 innings.....which really leaves room to use only 5 or 6 SP's on a regular basis. So my #7 starter isn't a regular in my starting rotation. He's more of a spot-starter/bargaining chip/insurance policy in case of injury.

Thanks in advance......of course WHIR!

p.s. I know somebody will ask, so here are my top 6 SP's: Lincicum; Hamels; Marcum; Gallardo; J. Chacin; M. Garza

Danks---pretty easily I think. I learned my lesson the hard way when it comes to relying on injured players with Morales this year.

danks, he's had a couple rough outings, and has no run support for the outings he did good in. he's got pretty good studs he'll bounce back. and add to the fact that you'll spot start him

Damn.....Danks just shat the bed again (6 earned runs in 1st inning), Maybe Dank's isn't a buy-low guy afterall.

this is one of those times where you would sit him.... he's pitching in a hitter's park against the hottest hitter in the league in Bautista.... now had he been pitching against San Diego today... I think we have a different story...

but yes he is getting lit up lol

I am rooting that Santana comes back as some form of himself, but if I was trading I want sure thing for my dollar, so you need to go Danks.

We just don't know enough about Santana to make the call in his favor - go with Danks.
