greinke wasnt among the top 10 SP pitchers to start the year, and he hasnt pitched enough (and with enough success) yet to put him that high now.
i have no argument with Haren being in that group. He is pitching even better in the AL than he was in the NL.
shields and cahill are both guys i was thinking about, but neither has more than a year of sustained domiance, so are you really going to take either one of them before the group of guys that were mentioned in the first 3 posts? if you honestly answer yes then i would love to have you in my leagues.
and yes, i realize Pineda has only 2 months of MLB experience, but his ceiling is so high, and hes so young (i mentioned Keeper league in my post) that i would be more than willing to take him before guys like shields, cahill, greinke, etc
btw, i know you were saying it toungue in cheek... but era *is* a fantasy stat. just saying
The subject line could be taken any number of ways. I took the subject line as this very day. Shields and Pineda are arguably the best pitchers out there among the top 10, if not the top five pitchers THIS VERY DAY. No?
C-Doumit, Lucroy 1B- Fielder 2B-Pedroia SS-Castro 3B-Longoria CI- Lawrie MI- H. Rameriz OF-Cargo Jennings Heyward U-Morneau Markakis Brown
SP-Price Greinke Zimmerman Moore Anderson RP-Nathan McGee Doolittle Grilli
ya lots of room for interpretation. i took it as top 10 guys you would take on your team right now, as in i wouldnt trade a guy on my list for any pitcher i have ranked below him

A bit of back and forth here, no?
Greinke was in some top 10's for sure, up until he got hurt anyway. I had him top 5 before his injury.
yes, i acknowledged that im kind of going at it from both sides in regards to Pineda. but i also qualified that by saying i was ranking them based on the assumption of a keeper league, (and in regards to trade value). under those assumptions I dont think many people would keep Pineda off their team if they could choose any 10 pitchers in baseball.
Pineda is not in my top 10 in redraft leagues. And if Greinke isn't then he's number 11 or 12 since he's shown that he's healthy and is pitching awesome so far.
