Ubaldo Jimenez for Anibal Sanchez WHIR

Postby johnlee1986 » Sat May 28, 2011 2:33 pm

I'd be getting Ubaldo...

it's in a keeper league, Ubaldo's contract ends this year and Sanchez can be a keeper through 2014.

Wow, that's tough. I think Anibal is for real. Still, my money says Ubaldo will be better than Anibal, but not last year good. So here are the questions - 1) How's your pitching/can you afford the risk of Ubaldo not getting back to form? 2) What's keeper worthy for pitcher - top 10, top 20 etc

my pitching is not strong at all... its a 16 team keeper... so pitching is very thin... i think i might stick with anibal, due to the ability to keep him till 2014, if he decides to do amazing this year..

I just saw an interesting stat about Ubaldo that said he's 0-7 since last September, and 4-12 with a 4.52 ERA since his 15-1 start. He still says it's his mechanics. I don't think he's hurt, but I just wonder if hitters have figured him out too much.

I've been offered Jimenez for Gio Gonzalez and I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger myself. I thought Ubaldo was a good buy-low guy, but after his last start I'm having my doubts.

Hm, don't knock on Ubaldo, he's got devastating stuff... his whole cuticle issue set him back a bunch and i'm sure he'll bounce back...
just like carl crawford... ppl started saying oh he's old now he won't swipe 40 bases or his reaction time is slow and what not.. but look at him now he's killing it...

i would definitely take this deal if ubaldo was at least a 3year keeper, but anibal at 4 years vs ubaldo at 1 year... is the reason im not taking it...

I could have gotten Sanchez as a f/a back in April. I didn't. We all know how that is turning out for his owner. 8-o

Honestly, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Don't get caught up in a name. Remember, Sanchez and Ramirez were key components in the trade with the Sox, and they are showing that the Marlins are for real.

I've got Ubaldo and trust me his value is dipping fast. I can't trade him without making a 2 for 1 deal at all right now.

And that means you'd be giving up too much for Sanchez... especially with the 3 years... he'll be a great pitcher and marlins is a good team that will earn him wins. no doubt.
