Blockbuster Cano deal...WHIR guaranteed

Postby jasonpm311 » Sat May 28, 2011 9:35 am

12-team H2H mixed keeper league. Should I do this?

I give:

Robinson Cano
Geovany Soto
John Axford

I get:
Victor Martinez
Andre Ethier
Kelly Johnson
Heath Bell
Joakim Soria

I'm hesitant to give up Cano in a keeper league; and, I'd have to end up dropping Coco Crisp and Matt Capps to make room for the extra guys. Any thoughts on it? I'll help in return guaranteed. Just post your links. Thanks!

I'd hesitate in a keeper league unless you have a good chance to win this year and upgrading catcher and closers and OF pushes you over the top. I don't trust Kelly Johnson, though the law of averages says he is probably due for a rebound.

Can you PM me on this: deciding whether to move Brantley or Domonic Brown for Avila. Do you think Brantley's hot streak this year was a fluke? He's ice cold this week and Brown is starting to produce so Im sure unsure which to move...

Thanks for the input. I'm in first place, and do think I have a good chance to win this year. But, as long as I know it's not a blatant MUST TAKE deal, I'm going to probably pass. As for Brown/Brantley, I'd hang on to Brown. Lots of upside.

I wouldn't do it in a keeper, since you're dealing the best keeper in the deal. I also don't think trading for two closers when you have to drop one is helpful.

Roster crunch, who to drop or trade?

In a keeper league, you can't do this, as Cano is the best 2B in baseball. I would look to upgrade catchers or closers by doing another deal that doesn't involve Cano.

help me please:

I would look to see if players like JP Arencibia, Jon Lucroy or whoever the Giants get as catcher on the WW, also players like Sergio Santos and Salas as closer, Matt Capps isnt any better as a closer as Soria is at the moment, I would stay put

help with mine?

Agreed. No way I would be giving up Cano. He's one of the top 2b in the league. I would explore other options that doesn't involve him.
