Trade my Votto for .... WHIR,LL

Postby KaPluie » Fri May 27, 2011 4:28 pm

I've been getting killed in pitching ... last place in WHIP and ERA, before I lost De La Rosa to injury. I currently sit in 8th place out of 12. I think my team is good enough to get to the playoffs (though it'll be close), but not good enough to do much damage. The top guy in the league really wants my Votto. Here's a trade I've been thinking of offering that helps my pitching situation, and gets me a good 1B replacement. WHIR,LL!

My Votto, Stauffer and Wood...
For his Youkilis, Kershaw, and Bud Norris.

This is his team:
O: Lucroy, Youkilis, Walker, Longoria, Tulo, Guerrero, Berkman, Markakis, Joyce, Swisher, Ike Davis
P: Marcum, Hanson, Axford, Farnsworth, Nunez, Gregg, Kershaw, Cain, Bumgarner Norris, Ogando

My team:
League: 12 teams, Daily H2H, 6x6, Keeper

Roster Size: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, Util, SP, SP, RP, RP, P, P, P, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, DL, DL

Batter Scoring: R, HR, RBI, SB, OBP, SLG
Pitching Scoring: W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP, Quality Starts

YRank = Yahoo! preseason overall ranking
C - Alex Avila (C, YRank=349)
1B - Joey Votto (1B, 5)
2B - Dan Uggla (2B, 34)
3B - Michael Young (1B/2B/3B, 76)
SS - Elvis Andrus (SS, 100)
OF - Corey Hart (OF, 98)
OF - Alex Gordon (3B/OF, 287)
OF - Matt Holliday (OF, 21)
Utility - Brett Gardner (OF, 120)
Bench - Bobby Abreu (OF, 117)

I Like the trade but I would say Keep Woodor Stauffer. So Votto Stauffer/Wood for Youk, kershaw, and Norris. Votto is a beast

Not a bad trade.... Considering your standing, sometimes a trade is refreshing just to shake things up. I think Bud Norris is excellent, you just have to know when to start him. The man will get you crazy amounts of strikeouts, but good teams will shell him (see: St. Louis). I'm a little biased since I currently own Kershaw and Norris, but they have done me right so far. I think the pitching you stand to gain makes up for the hitting you lose...

I would like this trade, too. Youkilis is breaking out of his early-season slump and kershaw/Norris will provide you with some great pitching stats.

I agree. I like this trade for you. Just make sure you're not giving up too much.

I like the trade. Kershaw will help you a ton, and votto for youk isn't that big a drop. Just quit throwing Lirano out there until he starts performing, you pitching isn't that bad.

I think it's a good trade for you, however I think you could ask for Marcum instead of Norris in a 3 for 3 deal. The guy really wants Votto, so at least the offer will get things going. Just my thinking. Votto is much more valuable than Youkilis in my opinion, so I'd make an offer that shows the guy how much you value Votto.

Good trade, but I agree - ask for Marcum instead of Norris.
