Nick Swisher and Jason Bay struggling SO MUCH is definitely not something I expected
I realize Swisher isn't much more than a .250 hitter, but where did the power go in that lineup, in that ball park...pretty ridiculous a third of the way through the season and he has 2 home runs.
Bay is maybe a little less surprising, he's always got an injury these days, he's getting older, he's slowing down..but I still pegged him for a nice bounce back
Right now both of these guys have been dropped and I added them to the back end of my roster just in case they turn it around...10 days into the experiment, and I already wanna send them back to the WW
Why don't they just get a house that's already painted?
Dunn is my biggest surprise. I didnt think he would be anywhere near this awful. He is just team killing terrible, and id be screwed in one league where he was my 2nd pick (after our 3 keepers) if hadn't landed Hosmer.
Starlin is surprising me too. the kid can flat out hit. just when he starts to struggle and you think the rides over he comes out with a 4 hit day followed by a 3 hit day. scoring lots of runs and even chipping in a decent amount of rbi is just icing on the cake.
Ryan Braun is a guy that has shocked me. I was one of the people bashing him preseason, believing his power trend was an ominous sign and thinking his days of 35hr/ 20sb' were long gone. I expected him to be a .300 hitter who hit 20-25 hr and stole maybe 8-10 bags. Apparently he disagreed.... and decided to post most of those stats in just 2 months. I am now a believer.
guys who have NOT surprised me. Both Ellsbury and Granderson. i reached for both of theses guys on both my teams (actually got outreached for Grandy in one and had to trade to get him), and they have both been great, but not anything that i didn't honestly believe they were capable of going into the season.

This. For the first time ever, I got a pick higher than #4. #1 no less. Obvious choice to take Albert. It's not like he's awful or anything, he's not, but below his previous levels? Hell yeah, and then some.
Still, we're only a third of the way through so there's lots of time for him to heat up.
