I'm assuming it's a keeper league right? In a redraft you could make a pretty compelling case that either of these guys might post the most value for the remainder of the season. I know Heyward is filled with potential and will likely ascend to beast status, but when? His hype is no hotter than was Wieter's Delmon's or Alex Gordon's. It could take a few years to realize his potential and that's only if he gets past what appears to be some JD Drew fragility issues. There is another comp; remember what a can't miss superstar JD Drew was going to be? I'm sure Philly fans haven't forgotten him shunning them after blowing their top pick on him.
I wouldn't get too worked up over this one. Not sure if you all do a lot of trades in that league or not but in heavy trading leagues this deal wouldn't normally cause a huge stir. Gardner has moved 4 times this season in our league (12T mixed roto keeper) and Heyward once:
3/27 - Gardner along with Broxton for Rasmus and Nathan 3/28 - Gardner and Dempster for B-Rob K-Rod and Domonic Brown (we have special keep rules for rooks) 3/29 - Gardner along with A-Roid Bumgarner and Dempster for Haren Oswalt Mcghee Moustakas and Fred Sanchez 4/8 - Gardner Napoli and Hellickson for Mauer and DeJesus 5/12 - Heyward and Jamey Carroll for Kinsler and Wieters

It's not a question of whether or not me or you would take the trade...it is whether or not it is collusion.
All things equal, this is not a veto-worthy trade, but under the circumstances with an inactive manager and the LM immediately allowing the trade, I would argue against this trade.
I was pretty ticked off when I saw that trade and wrote that post...but it doesn't change the fact on how the LM completed the trade. Thanks for the input guys I appreciate it!

Just so you know I wasn't blessing all that league stuff, sounds like there are underlying flaws there. I was just commenting on the 'fairness' of the 1-1 trade in a vaccum, which I don't see being an issue.

Doesn't seem like collusion. Did Team B need steals? Gardner's been coming around, heating up a bit and with his speed there's no way he doesn't start running more at some point. And Heyward isn't exactly an iron man. I personally wouldn't have trade Heyward for Gardner, but depends on team needs.
