Which stud to offer for ace SP

Postby porsche3002 » Wed May 25, 2011 10:28 pm

I am in desperate need of pitching in my 10-Team CBS H2H Points League. My lineup is solid all the way through, even with Hanley stinking up the joint. Are my infield and outfield deep enough that I could trade away one stud for the likes of a Josh Johnson + pitcher?

C McCann, Brian(C) ATL
1B Youkilis, Kevin(1B,3B) BOS
2B Cano, Robinson(2B) NYY
3B Beltre, Adrian(3B) TEX
SS Ramirez, Hanley(SS) FLA
OF Gonzalez, Carlos(OF) COL
OF Kemp, Matt(OF) LA
OF Stanton, Mike(OF) FLA
U Joyce, Matt(OF) TB

Bench (3B) Peralta, Jhonny(3B,SS) DET
Bench (U) Dunn, Adam(1B) CHW
Bench (U) Utley, Chase(2B) PHI

SP Buchholz, Clay(SP) BOS
SP Burnett, A.J.(SP) NYY
SP Oswalt, Roy(SP) PHI
SP Peavy, Jake(SP) CHW
SP Sanchez, Jonathan(SP) SF
RP Madson, Ryan(RP) PHI
RP McClellan, Kyle(RP,SP) STL

Bench (SP) Colon, Bartolo(SP) NYY
Bench (SP) Pineiro, Joel(SP) ANA

Depends who ur talking about giving up... i wouldn't get carried away bc that's not a bad assortment of pitchers you have there (I could def do w/out Pinero but other than that...). The only thing I would recommend is shopping Dunn or a red-hot Joyce and see what that brings u. A solid stud-filled offense is the best path to fantasy gold. Hope this helps... take a look at mine please?

The pitching isnt bad but every week I sit Sanchez he's a beast... luckily I reclaimed CJ Wilson off waivers, I dropped him after his crappy 2 start week.

Who would want Dunn? Sure hes gone get some power, but the KO's kill him. Joyce is a good option to shop, but what caliber pitcher can I get for a Kemp or CarGo?

I would shop Utley, perhaps after he has a monster day...next choice would be Youkilis and hope that Dunn heats up....if its Youk, I would think you could get 2 aces.

I wouldnt shop kemp or car-go, i dont see anymore OF on your roster. But those two guys should demand just about any pitcher in the league.

I would look at shopping a 2B, since you have two elites ones...assuming utley has success and stays healthy.

I agree with guy who said shop Dunn (tout fact that he's ALWAYS a 40 HR, great OBP guy) or Joyce (sell high) and see what one of those guys, or both, brings you. Target teams who are shitty on HRs, obviously, and have great pitching. Not that Dunn will fetch you Halladay but could land you a 2nd-tier stud if someone believes he'll heat up when Chicago does.
