SP Injury Replacement

Postby Cali Redneck » Tue May 24, 2011 8:59 pm

One of my starters just went on the DL and I'd like to pick up another to replace him until he's healthy. The best options on the waiver wire right now are:

Erik Bedard
Charlie Morton
Rick Porcello
Ryan Vogelsong
Jake Arrieta

Who should I grab?

Bedard...... Then ride him until he hits the DL.......... Vogelsong would be my second choice, although, not sure what they do with him when Zito comes back even though he's been pitching great!

Bedard, he has the best K potential of the bunch. Morton and Porcello have been doing nice recently, but have no K's and could blow up at any time. If I'm taking those risks, I at least want some k's.

Bedard has been really strong lately, and though the offense behind him is terrible, he has the benefit of pitching in Safeco.

Got to go with Bedard here! I think Morton, Arrieta, and Porcello are also a possibility, but I'd go with Bedard here.

So a few hrs after I posted I found out about Jorge De La Rosa being out for the season, meaning I actually need TWO new starters. I guess that makes my decision a little easier. I picked up both Bedard and Vogelsong.
