Big Papi trade... what u think? WHIR 100%

Postby billycent » Tue May 24, 2011 8:09 pm

Just agreed to this trade... my David Ortiz for Anibal Sanchez and Bobby Abreu. Ortiz has been very good but he's my utility and I can play anybody there, Abreu is very steady 15/20 guy... maybe better, and I love the boost that Sanchez gives my rotation. What does anybody think? Leave a link and I got u right back.

I don't see any huge win on either side on this one.

Thanks for the help on mine. I think 15/20 is a little lofty an expectation or Abreu at this point in his career, but I do like the deal for you. Your team can withstand the loss of power and I think Sanchez is the good grab for you. Colon won't keep it up and Sanchez will add another legit pitcher to your staff.

Not sure your staff really needed the help. Abreu is borderline in a 12 team league, depending on what the extra cat's are. I probably wouldn't have done it, but can't fault you for it either.

Meh, it definitely helps your pitching. I like Papi over Abreu by quite a bit, but if Anibal the Animal keeps it up, it'll end up being an OK trade.
