I just read an article in the Providence Journal and the team Doc said Nomar needed a week or TWO!

And this was dated the 27th!Anyone with any inside info on this problematic situation?

I just read something on Sporting News that says he could still play Opening Day. He wont be out too long becuz I also read that the trainer said if it was Sept., he would be playing.

He has the same injury as Prior, an inflamed achilles. I know it affects fielders differently than pitchers, but it still has to be a bitch to try and run with achilles pain.

Saw him on t.v. last night. My guess at this point is that he's not going to rush anything to player the first two weeks. He's thinking about the long term. The injury is affecting his ability to push off while swinging the bat.

nomar's gay.. just get out there and play.. Oh, he doesnt want to "risk" it.. life is a risk and so is stepping onto the field everyday.. Boston already wants to get rid of him, so he better suck it up if he wants to be playing there next year. On another note, I dont have anybody to sub in in his stead.

i understand ur frustrated that hes not playing for ur team and so am i but i doubt if you had that injury you'd be rushing back, especially for the first few games which mean virtually nothing. and i dont really think nomar is too psyched about staying in boston anyway.
