Working on a deal for HanRaM WHIR!

This guy and I have been talking about Hanley and we know for sure Jered Weaver is in the deal. What do you guys think I should add to get this deal through, if I even need to.

Don't want to offer to much; wait for him to accept or add-on to Weaver. Your bats are top-notch and I doubt Lowrie would do the trick; maybe Russell Martin if he needs a catcher. Martin is solid in that lineup but his value will never be higher.

The only thing about offering Martin is that he Alex Avila and Joe Mauer on the DL.

I don't think I'd do that deal. Remember- Hanley's value is largely derived from position scarcity.

You've got Reyes, and it looks like he's playing like the Reyes of old (who, ahem, wants a contract). The way your squad is organized, you need Reyes's speed over Hanley's power, and it's certainly not worth giving up your ace for essentially a utility player.

Does he have another SS? I doubt this would be enough, but Peralta has been pretty good this year. Had Weaver not lost his last 4 starts it might have been a little easier for the trade to happen. Otherwise you're probably going to have to cripple your team to get him, and you already have Reyes, so I don't really see if filling a need for you to have to go big on this trade.

I agree with the guys above who think you might be better off by not doing this deal. THAT SAID, if you are all hot & bothered to get Hanley then wait for the other guy to ask for 2nd player, while setting your own limit in your own mind (martin or lowrie).

I might actually hold on to Peralta, he seems to finally be hitting to opposite field, so pitchers cant just punish him outside (like years past). In other words, I believe in the career year potential here, that and as a fellow Zimmerman owner I have ZERO confidence that he will comeback and be his usual stud self. Sports hernia surgery seems to usually zap that players power for months after. When Josh Hamilton had it in 2009, he cameback with zippy power and finished with all of 10 homers. Another reason to keep Peralta...so you can start him instead of Zim, if Zim struggles.
