Interesting Pineda/Latos trade...WHIR guaranteed

Postby jasonpm311 » Mon May 23, 2011 11:43 am

It's a 12-team H2H mixed league. I have four closers, and was looking to downsize to three, pick up a starter, and get an upgrade in my peripherals, as well as possibly sell high on Pineda. What do you guys think of this trade?

I give: Pineda, Capps, and Axford
I get: Latos and Neftali Feliz

Should I do it? Post your links, and I guarantee help in return today. Thanks!

I don't like it at all. Feliz has been struggling but yea he's better than Axford or Capps.

However, Pineda seems to be pitching so much better than Latos.

It's not the Latos we know from last season. Pineda seems like the real deal.

I wouldn't do the trade.

The potential innings cap on Pineda doesn't worry you? I'm not sure how I feel about it, but, yeah, you're right: Pineda's been lights out and Latos, not so much. It's a keeper league, too, and Pineda might be worthy of being a keeper for me instead of, say, Ichiro. Do you have a link you need input on?

Keeper league makes all the difference here, keep Pineda.

I wouldn't do it. Even with the innings cap, Pineda will give you 160-180 quality innings, and then you can pick up a WW pitcher who's streaking down the stretch. You don't know what you're going to get from Latos this year. In a keeper league I think they both have similar upside, so no reason to try for a buy low on Latos.

Thanks for the help on mine.

Don't do this trade. They talk inning caps but you never know. Pineda is a stud. If you are worried about the innings cap, keep him longer and try moving him later down the road.

I agree with everyone here, Pineda is a guy worth keeping through the season. Plus, by getting Latos and Feliz you wouldn't exactly be selling high with Pineda. bottom line is, don't do this trade

I'm high on Latos still, but Pineda has looked devestating thus far. Not point in downsizing when it might not even be an upgrade.
