I just got a trade offer in my 10 team mixed keeper league, his Dan Haren for my Michael Pineda.
I know Pineda's going to be useless come playoffs this season, but since it's a keeper, I'm not sure what to think. I don't think it's too likely that I'll win the league this year either.
I also have:
Latos, Kershaw, Hanson, Hellickson, Daniel Hudson, Zimmermann, Anibal Sanchez & Bedard
Assuming no injuries in the near future, is Pineda a better investment over Haren?

In a keeper I would rather have Pineda.

In the next 3 years, I like Haren. Obviously Pineda is younger, but you shouldn't be thinking more than 3 years ahead, even in a keeper.

I love Pineda, but if you get a chance for Haren straight up, you should take it. Haren should still be a better pitcher for the next few years. And you're right, Pineda won't be a factor in the playoffs this year.
Unless there is a huge discrepancy between the rounds you have to keep either player for next year... If that's the case, then we have a more difficult situation.
