I just dont see how a career avg pitcher can all of a sudden become an ace. But stranger things have happened

He's got the stuff to be better than what his career numbers suggest but he's not as good as he's going now. So to answer the OP question, no, he won't keep it up...but he he'll continue to be better than the last couple years suggest...pitching in the AL East is just as difficult as it comes.

He was my pick for Comeback Player of the year, and I was targeting him in all of my drafts...

But this has exceeded all my expectations...I hope there is not a huge correction to the mean and that he can still be a Mid 3 ERA guy from here on out...but I'm definitely debating a sell-HIGH on him...but I doubt I'd be able to get enough to sway me away from what he's doing right now

Can anyone with some extra features tell me the latest 1 for 1 trades involving Shields?
Why don't they just get a house that's already painted?

Yeah this is probably the case of holding being better for your team than a sell high...unless you live in Florida :)

I sold him and Gordon for Ellsbury in a keeper earlier this week. Had pitching to spare but I'm starting to regret not waiting until today because that start yesterday got a lot of pub. and the time to sell may be now. I imagine you could trade him for something really nice now.

2.00 ERA, 2.68 xFIP despite the .249 BABIP (.304 career). Career high K/9, career low BB/9, though he is stranding an unsustainable 87.0% of base runners. His GB, FB, LD% are all pretty normal, as is his HR/FB.
