Did I win this trade? WHIR

Postby BlueJaysFan » Sun May 22, 2011 6:20 pm

I traded Matt Guerrier and Mariano Rivera, for Vladimir Guerrero and Carlos Santana. I like the sound of the deal, as I get two solid batters for one old Closer and one RP who is only closing for a few more games, while the injuries last. My only problem with the trade, is that I now have too many batters and not enough pitchers. But I'm also projected to go over my innings max by more than 200 innings, (I streamed a lot early in the season). I also like the idea of having stacked batting, where I can play the matchups every day. Thoughts?

I like that trade for you if you had a full pitching staff. Otherwise, I don't see it as a win because it didn't fill a need. Just muddied up your hitters.

love u adding carlos santana but you gotta look to package some of those bench guys for a top teir pitcher you cant roll into the playoffs hoping jamie garcia keeps this pace up the entire way out of eybar kubel arenciabia jed lowrie and nick swisher packaging somthin like that together for a pitcher any 2 of them for a pitcher pre ranked from 20-35 would be great options for you just dont take liriano or danks or carpenter none of the crazy guys that started the year terrible

look to guys with shortstop holes and outfeild hole teams if u can find a sick pitching staff with no bats look 2 move 3 of them for 2 of his pitchers one being good and one being like a alexi ogando or a kyle lohse james sheilds if still possible and then a good known name pitcher as well

Thanks for the help. Would latos be a bad pitcher to add, since I can get him easily for lowrie and swisher? Is Bartolo Colon worth dropping someone, He is on the waiver wire. Since he plays on the yankees, I think he could turn out to be a steal. I just don't know if anyone is worth dropping for him, especially since I have to drop someone to take Cruz off my DL.

I didn't really want Vlad, but I basically got him for Guerrier so I thought I might as well take him. He still has juice in his bat, and he made the trade better for me. I agree Ludwick is the easy choice to drop, however he has been playing really well latley (he got 2 home runs the 3 times I started him). I just don't feel comfortable dropping a guy who's hot, not to mention he has been added in 35 % of leagues. I think I'll wait things out for a while, and then probably drop Ludwick for Colon. Or, I might get latos for Lowrie and Swisher.
