I traded Fielder

I'm in a 12 team league and fell to the 9th spot. I was looking for a 2nd baseman and traded Fielder for Kinsler. No body else would trade there 2nd baseman. I currently have Beckham at 2nd. I also have M Trumbo and B Wallace at 1st, there getting more production then Beckham. Im hoping that Kinsler can pick up his play, I know he's 30y/o so that's not good. So my question is, did I make a big mistake or what.

Hey Al,

It's tough to judge this move without looking at your entire team, knowing your scoring system (keeper league) or having some idea of what your options were at 2B from the waiver wire.

It's not an awful deal, but I think you could have gotten Kinsler plus another piece for Fielder.

I agree that all things being equal, you should have been given another piece with kinsler for fielder. However, beckham is truly frustrating so I can relate to why you would want to patch that position. I think it will work out. But I'd probably deal Kinsler when he heats up since he has an injury history.

I just traded Fielder for Crawford/Scherzer, but I don't think your deal is awful. Without knowing other details it's hard to judge.

You may survive, but this is not a trade I would make. Sorry. Fielder is too motivated this year.
