I am in a 10-team, head-to-head, points-based, keeper league that starts 2 catchers. My #1 is McCann, so I am good there, but my #2 is currently Saltalamacchia. His at-bats have looked way more promising as of late, but Wilson Ramos just cleared waivers in my league and is a free agent.
it's interesting, I was really high on salty coming into the season, he's shown that he can hit both in the minors when healthy and in spring training, but he clearly struggled both as a catcher and as a hitter on the big stage. However, he is turning his season around. He is now fully catching 3/5 of the regular starters and one of the 5 that he wasn't catching (dice-k) is on the dl, so for the next week or so I could see the possibility of him catching 4/5. As you pointed out he is taking quality at bats now, and ramos has cooled off at the plate. If you've stuck with salty so far, I suggest you ride him out as your second.

I would love to hear your explanation. Salty is being groomed to be the every day catcher, and throughout the minors showed multi-tool ability. He is learning from some of the best various staffs, and varitek, and is showing clear and constant growth.
Both have power, but salty is heating up while ramos is sinking.
