Ichiro for a pitcher a-gogo ? WHIR, when applicable!

Postby lupus yonderboy » Fri May 20, 2011 7:50 pm

10 team shallowness (standard 6x6 h2h rates may apply), and exquisite patience during the (money)draft has me needing to deal ichiro before Hamilton returns. I picked up Joyce when Hammy went out and Whooo-weee boy, i'm sold. Gonna drop Burnett (and sit on Nathan...grrrr) but i also want the reciepent of Ichiro to get a good solid fair trade too; that's how i roll.
with Lohse not being a strikeout guy, and Bucholz and Yo-Yo Gallardo off slow, i want a starter with some k's. who to target?
like i said, i'll help in return where i can. THANKS A MILLION!
Here's the lineup:
c Lucroy
1b Teixeira
2b Uggla
3b J. Peralta
ss Asdrubal Cabrera
of Holliday
of Granderson
of Matt Joyce
UT Michael Young
Bn Ichiro
Bn Ellsbury
DL Hamilton
SP Yovani Gallardo
SP Chad Billingsley
RP José Valverde
RP Drew Storen
P Kyle Lohse
P Cole Hamels
P Fernando Salas
BN Clay Buchholz
BN Michael Pineda
BN A.J. Burnett
BN Joe Nathan

As far as pitching goes, what are some of the top pitchers on the waivers right now? Annibal Sanchez is a solid pitcher to look for some strikeout productivity if he's on the waivers. He's posting just over a 9k/9ip right now with a 3-1 record and a 3.02 ERA. I can say for sure though that you can get rid of Nathan. The chances of him getting the closer position back this season are slim to none.

ichiro is just ridding on his reputation, since his offense is a crap and he will only help you in 2 categories

so, go ahead and try to get a good deal from a owner living in ichiro's past, you have ellsbury and dont need ichiro

This is the strategy I would take... you should be able to get a top of the line player from someone for Ichiro

am i on planet earth here guys what r u doin to this guy LoL id put micheal young in the 3bag spot play ichiro and ellsbury and hamilton look to move joyce and granderson there pretenders granderson is soon to get hurt and matt joyce..... ryan roberts .... sam fuld..... logan morrison.... get proven guys starting there year out slow with these super hot start dudes matt joyce and curtis granderson could easily get you a star pitcher to a weak outfeild team and your team woud look like this
c Lucroy
1b Teixeira
2b Uggla
3b mike young
of Holliday
ofichiro
of ellsbury
UT josh hamilton
thats a scary offense and with joyce and curtis granderson 2 of the hottest starts in the league theres no way some dummie you cant find some yankee lover and move granderson right now
id say moving those 2 for a catcher would be boss like if u could swindle those 2 for carlos santana and a decent pitcher as well maybe u move those 2 and try to get joe mauer

Waiver wire has Ervin Santana (i'll use him like AJ, streaming based on his matchups), Ryan Dempster, Arietta and Colon. i Really like Anibal from what i know about him. My brother says that (ichiro IS riding on his reputation..'s why i'm dealing him) he would ask for a Morrow or a Marcum.

i don't want to dump him to the waiver wire though; he was a late round draft pick for me and i would like some value out of him.

who should i target?

thanks for the help with mine.

It's hard to say who to target.....the key is to find the guys who either a) is a huge Ichiro fan, or b) really needs help at avg. and/or sb's.....and have pitching to spare. Then grab the best pitcher you can. With guys like Gallardo i think the k's will come for you.....just worry about getting the best all-around pitcher you can.

you want a fair trade where you give up ichiro for K's:
How about Ichro for...
Garza
Norris + a little something
Marcum
Pineda
C. J. Wilson
Max Scherzer
Shields
JSanchez
ASanchez + a little something
Romero
Ian Kennedy

Yeah, I would look to trade Ichiro for a pitcher. I would go after someone like Garza.
90% of my posts are from complaining about my team :)
