Macho Man was by far my favourite of that 1980s generation, and he was at his best when he was all worked up and insane. With him I always wanted more because he was colourful looking, had an awesome finisher (especially for the time), and would likely say any old random crap on the mic, which I loved. Hulk Hogan in comparison came off as a preachy and repetitive, and he couldn't do 10% of what Macho could.

When I think of old-school wrestling and/or wrestling legends, Macho Man is one of the first people that come to mind. RIP Macho Man and thank you for all you did for the business and for all the wonderful entertainment we (the fans) got out of watching you.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
Mach was definitely a childhood favorite of mine and one of the best performers of his generation, at least. He was every bit as consistent a worker as Shawn Michaels was for his generation. I think back to Wrestlemania 3 and Steamboat/Savage stealing the show that night, becoming the company's top dog a year later at Wrestlemania 4 (of course, the Superpowers angle with Hogan overshadowed that for the coming year), and great matches involving Ultimate Warrior and Ric Flair in WM VII and VIII respectively. I think while Mach was past his physical peak in WCW, he was still one of the better in-ring performers around with the way he was able to tell a story in his matches. Plus, I always liked the way he delivered his promos; he and Jake the Snake Roberts were the best in their heyday.
By the way, not sure how many here watch TNA wrestling, but Jay Lethal ran a "Black Machismo" gimmick for awhile in TNA with Macho Man's full blessing. Here's an interview with him in full gimmick mode:
If you want to see his ring entrances and things, skip to 2:17.
