I'm going to presume that it's ian kennedy, seeing as adam kennedy doesn't really count/matter for anything.
i would say overall that the second option fares better... pedroia has come back to earth bigtime this season, but you figure he'll do somewhat better. zobrist seems to have rebounded from his veritable-sophomore slump season last year and he seems to be a valuable, if not streaky, guy, and then ian kennedy seems to be figuring it out on the ML level and he's a nice solid serviceable fantasy starter... i wanna say he's like #63 overall, and he's got a 3.05/1.05 with ~50Ks in something like ~56 innings or something. i wouldn't expect him to be some sort of OMFG in the wins column, but then again, i always preach that you never really base your fantasy team around wins cuz they're so fluky and nebulous like, you just go with the best pitchers and the wins will work themselves out like 85% of the time.
ryan howard is undoubtedly the best player in the trade, no doubt, but delmon young is a fantasy nothing to me. whoever's giving up that first package is trying to dump him off... i think delmon had somnething like a .280/20/90 season last year? wow, he was .299/21/112, which is really nice, but this year i think he was injured and whether or not it's mostly based on that, he's started off real slow and the twins team he's on is some sort of an amazing suckfest and i don't think he's going to get anywhere close to that this year. keep in mind while he was able to run out to that .299/21/112 last year. he had a 1/2 or 2/3 of a season of morneau having a career year (like .370/14/70 or something) and mayer didn't have his power but he was still a .300+ hitter and then you add in all those wacky supertwinsy guys like cuddyer and kubel and they had better pitching so they were into the games much more. this twins team is currently a suckfest and that translates to fantasy baseball, sure liriano has had a few nice starts lately, but really the only guy i'd go out of my way to own right now is matt capps, and that says something... hell, i think the twins want to install joe nathan in the closer role again, and personally, as a multiple-league capps owner i hope they stay wise and let capps handle the job and give nathan a nice lower-stress year to get his stuff back and compete for the closer job next year =D
check out mine, would ya?
