that decision I made to bench Chacin sure is looking dumb right now.
i say it to myself over and over and over - "its h2h, START EVERYONE!" yet i always talk myself into making the "smart" move and every single time it backfires.

Nah. H2H, it's still smart to bench some SPs against certain teams. PHI just doesn't qualify as one of them anymore. They rank 21st in runs scored this year. The best hitting teams so far (at least by runs scored)? STL, CIN, CLE, NYY, TEX. I don't know if CLE will remain, but the rest - STL, CIN, NYY, TEX - would give me pause to start a marginal SP against them.

But I don't consider Chacin a marginal SP.
In H2H I start them if I have them unless there is some end of the week strategery involved. If they aren't good enough to start then they are just a streamer and I'll consider dropping them for someone with a better matchup.
Excellent start for Bumgarner, I was certain that Brian Wilson was going to blow it though. With 45+ pitches between tonight and last night, those of you with Sergio Romo to boost your ratios may be in for a bonus save...
and of course wilson comes in, (who somehow WASN"T seriously hurt last night, wtf is he iron man?), promptly walks his first 2 batters to load the bases, then facing carrol gives up line drive base hit to right to lose the ga--

haven't been the toughest opponents but he's looked very good after a slow start (where he didn't really look that bad to begin with).
wilson does not look like himself right now, he doesn't have is good control and all of his pitches are up. thank god nate was positioned where he was and made that excellent diving catch, i almost had a heart attack.
