I'm looking for two replacements for Beachy and Dice K. I'm looking at Colon, Naverson, and Pinerio . Anybody have any ideas? I know you don't know whos avalible but thought maybe you could throw soe names out there and I can see if they are avalible. Roto 5x5 keeper. Not really that much on the wire. Half thinking of one temp closer. Salas was just taken yesterday. Meloencon? Or whatever his name is? HELP !!!!!!!
Colon and Naverson are both solid low-end pickups. Low-end guys are about all you can do from the wire. Some better options are Wood, and Arrieta. Are they available? How about Wolf? Off the top of my head, I'd order these guys Wood, Arrieta, Colon, Wolf, Naverson, Pinerio. Is Edwin Jackson available? Obviously if Anibal happens to be out there, he's a high-end option.
Tom Gorzelanny is a good risky pick if you are looking to hit it big ... he could be killer the rest of the year, or nosedive. Phil Humber's also a good waiver option right now, along with Carmona, Harang, and Correia.
Thinking about it carefully, I'd probably sort that group: Tier A: Colon (huge k-rate, some solid starts, subject to a bad game here and there pitching in Yankee Stadium) Tier B: Carmona (consistently good, getting lots of wins and QS, low k-rate ~5.5/9), Narveson (has pitched awesome minus 2 starts, solid k-rate) Tier C: Pinerio (Has pitched awesome coming off the DL, but who knows if it can be sustained ... decent flyer though), Wolf (lots of good games, a few stinkers, solid depth guy), Harang (blistering start, started to slow down) Tier D: Correia (a couple bad starts this year, but has pitched well) Gamble: Tom Gorzelanny (could be a top guy, or a stinker being on the nationals)
Wow !! Thanks for the great break down. I dropped Harang after he was shelled a couple of weeks ago. Think I'll giv Colon a shot. I can use K's and maybe just maybe the yankees are out of their funk and will get back on the winning track. May hold off a day or two on the other replacement.
T. Stauffer - has been solid with good k rate, but lacking in w's J. Tomlin - Unreal statline so far E. Volquez - ugly on the surface, but look at the hits per inn & k rates, both solid. If he finds his control...
