If Montero gets called up he's going to play. But he'll have to produce also.
Fantastic another steroid debate. Exciting.
Not a steroid debate, apparently, thedude wanted a logic debate.
I would be very surprised if Montero is called up right now, fwiw.

Posada pulled himself from the lineup today, he doesn't seem to have much confidence. Girardi has still been supportive of him in his most recent comments in the last week. I'd say in the near term they'll at least give A. Jones most of the DH AB's against lefties since Granderson has been excellent this season and Gardner has started to turn things around of late. I can't imagine the Yankees calling up Montero without planning on giving him FT AB's. Plus they haven't given up on him catching. With the emergence of Martin so far this year and the stock of C prospects in the system, I think it's more likely the Yankees trade Montero by July 31st for a frontline starter than him getting any serious AB's this year. I really don't think Montero is worth as much to the Yankees as he would be to other teams. Jeter and A-Rod are going to need more and more DH starts over the next few seasons, and it is such a waste to put someone so young into a DH role for the rest of their career. Without any direct statements from the FO or Girardi, I'm mostly just speculating on what fits the team best. Hell, maybe he'll be up as the FT DH next week.

Yeah I'm mainly just reading the tea leaves with Posada pulling himself from the lineup, talking to Girardi because he felt "insulted" batting ninth, etc. If there's a move right around the corner, be it either retirement or other for Jorge, I want to be at the ready if Montero gets the call.

I wasn't planning to debate. I'm still mad at JoBau for almost singlehandedly beating me in last years playoffs. And the closest I can get to messing with him is poking some fun at mweir.

Bingo. I hope Jesus is coming, but as a Yankee fan, I'm doing my best not to get too attached.

Starting IPK and Morrow. Mighty Max has been postponed, KC avoids his wrath.
