I want side B, Votto is an excellent player but Howard isn't a real big downgrade, while Young is lighting the world on fire, and Kimbrel's a flame thrower.
B. Adding one more player(Sanchez) doesn't really increase the overall value. Young is superior to McGehee and Kimbrel over Francisco/Sanchez. Howard/Votto is closer than people would lead you to believe.
A: I like Perez over Kimbrel, Votto over Howard, and although McGehee is a drop off from Young, I think the upgrade of Votto over Howard makes it worth it. Not to mention Kimbrel's struggles of late and possible saves coming to Venters.
I don't think Howard and Votto are that close. I think Votto is much more valuable, as he hits for a better avg. and gets SB. Plus, he can hit for power like Howard. However, I'd rather have Kimbrel and Young at the moment over Perez and McGehee. So, I guess it's really a wash. Unless you can get a better option than McGehee, I would have to sit tight. But if you can get Votto in another way, definitely worth trading Howard in my opinion.
