edit: give up Weaver/Gio for Holliday? or Heyward/Gio?

I offered this guy Heyward and Torii Hunter for Holliday, he said he would need Heyward plus another elite hitter or top-grade pitcher to give Holliday, so I'm thinking of offering Carpenter along with Heyward. Carp has been letting me down this season... but the guy might take it if he thinks Carp can get back to form. I could then try to trade for another pitcher or pick someone up off the waiver wire.

It will hurt your depth at SP but I would do that deal. Holliday is a nice upgrade at OF. At worst you could stream pitchers off the WW and get hopefully decent production there.

I went ahead and offered it, hopefully he goes for it. There are some decent options on the WW, or I could try to trade a bench bat for a SP.

He countered with Holliday for Bautista and Weaver. yeah... uhhhh NO THANK YOU.

He offered me Holliday for Heyward and Weaver. I said no, and asked if he would be interested in Gio instead. He apparently took that to mean Gio and Weaver for Holliday and made me that offer. Should I take that deal then try to trade Heyward for a starter or 2? or should see if he'll do Heyward/Gio like I had meant originally? or do nothing....

Geesh, this is getting good lol. I LOVE Matt Holliday. I've seen him referred to as a "poor man's Albert Pujols". He's just a rock solid player. I think you're pitching takes too big of a hit to give up Weaver and Gio. If he takes CarGo and Gio I'd pull the trigger.
