Too much for Halladay?

Postby tommo » Fri May 13, 2011 10:19 am

Currently in a 12 Team H2H Points league with one keeper (Players eligible if drafted in 6th round or later). Trying to get Halladay. My team:

C: Carlos Santana
1B: Joey Votto
2B: Gordon Beckham
3B: Jose Bautista
SS: Stephen Drew
OF: Carlos Gonzalez
OF: Colby Rasmus
OF: Andrew McCutchen
U: Casey McGehee
Reserves: Erick Aybar, Eric Hosmer

SP: Jered Weaver
SP: Roy Oswalt
SP: Shaun Marcum
SP: Max Scherzer
SP: Jaime Garcia
SP: Jhoulys Chacin
SP: Jeremy Hellickson
SP: Kyle McClellan
SP: Homer Bailey
RP: Carlos Marmol

His team:
C Molina, Yadier(C) STL
1B Dunn, Adam(1B) CHW
2B Prado, Martin(2B,3B,OF) ATL
3B Ramirez, Aramis(3B) CHC
SS Lowrie, Jed(2B,SS) BOS
OF Gordon, Alex(OF) KC
OF Granderson, Curtis(OF) NYY
OF Sizemore, Grady(OF) CLE
U Butler, Billy(1B) KC

Bench (C) Mauer, Joe(C) MIN
Bench (SS) Desmond, Ian(SS) WAS
Bench (OF) Span, Denard(OF) MIN
Bench (U) Bay, Jason(OF) NYM

SP Gallardo, Yovani(SP) MIL
SP Halladay, Roy(SP) PHI
SP Lee, Cliff(SP) PHI
SP Lewis, Colby(SP) TEX
SP Volquez, Edinson(SP) CIN
RP Cordero, Francisco(RP) CIN

Bench (SP) Dickey, R.A.(SP) NYM
Bench (SP) Young, Chris(SP) NYM
Bench (RP) Chen, Bruce(RP,SP) KC

He offered me Lee and Prado for Bautista and Scherzer. I really don't want to move Bautista though. I was thinking maybe CarGo, Oswalt, and Garcia for Halladay. Is that too much? I'd like to possibly get Prado too which would be an upgrade at 2B. Suggestions? Counters? Thanks!

CarGo, Oswalt, and Garcia is too much for Halladay.
You cant trade CarGo at a giant discount right now; theres just no way to win a deal if you do that.

Cargo, Oswalt, and Garcia for Halladay and Prado is a more reasonable offer. This will probably come down to how highly he values CarGo though.

Thanks for the advice. Another owner needs a 3B and I was thinking of possibly packaging McGehee with one of my pitchers for Either Greinke, Kershaw, or Ubaldo (although he's looking terrible right now). He also has Haren, but I doubt he'd trade him.
